How's this for a change?
Well I decided to move away from my conjure blades, triple axe, and Earth shaker builds for something a Little more fun. Spear chucking. Previously I hadn't done it too well, but that was before PvE skills. The reason for this thread is I want to know how to improve it while
A) keeping the spear as my main weapon
B)Not relying on PvE skills that NEED high ranks to work. (Don't know if there are any more of them after the buffs.)
Right now I have
14 str and 12 spear
Barbed Spear
Spear of Fury
Blazing Spear
Merciless Spear
"Save Yourselves!"
"Your all Alone!"
Flail
Sunspear Rebirth Signet.
(Woulda used the pictures but their kinda broken atm...so yeah.)
Currently It works well. The only Reason I'm using YaA is it helps with melee control more then I thought it would. Also it's a nice fast condition for Spear of Fury.
Any suggestion on how to make it better while not changing the WHOLE thing?

Personally I would ditch Merciless Spear and You're All Alone! for Cruel Spear/Stunning Spear and For Great Justice! I'd also consider ditching an adrenaline attack for an energy attack, but with only 20 energy to work with instead of the Paragon's 30 it's a harder decision. If any, it'd either be Spear of Lightning or Swift Javelin.
So I guess my build would be:
Barbed Spear/energy attack
Spear of Fury
Blazing Spear
Cruel Spear/Stunning Spear
"Save Yourselves!"
"For Great Justice!"
Flail
Sunspear Rebirth Signet
Also, one last thought - do you actually get a consistent enough amount of adrenaline to make SY a solid addition instead of a random buff?

With Flail and spear of fury, yeah I have perfect adren for SY. Only has a down time of around 4 seconds or something like that.
I wanted to keep the adren attacks because of the low energy and lack of energy from spamming shouts like the para does but...I'll think about it.

4 seconds of downtime for SY isn't perfect adrenaline. You might be better off not bothering with SY if you're with other people who can bring it.
Use "You Move Like a Dwarf!" instead of YAA and bring some other elite.

there is an elite skill that give energy every time you attack. I can not remember the name of it but this is how I get around the very low energy of the war.

You may be thinking of "Warrior's Endurance," which would be good except that it's only for melee attacks. Paragon's have several energy gaining skills in the Motivation line ("Leader's Zeal," and "Zealous Anthem" are good choices).

I wouldnt bother with barbed spear... bleeding isnt that great a condition, only good for covering the dazed from stunning strike which ur not using. Even if u were its not that big a deal, since most mobs only have 1 condition remover, the monk and thats who ull be dazing most of time.
Since you now have a free elite, think about those which have the most benefit, u have the 2 spear attack elites caster shutdown vs more damage, strength elites, i can only rly think of defy pain atm which is good for tanking but thats about it, and non attributed elites such as coward and cautery signet.
Personally id go with cruel spear or stunning strike.
So the bar is looking like this :
YMLAD
Flail
Spear of Fury
Cruel Spear
Blazing Spear
Save Yourselves
PVE Optional
Optional
The 2nd pve optional I would consider asuran scan, pain inverter or ebon battle standard of honor. They work better at higher ranks, but at low ranks they still own.
For normal optional skill I would go with Lions comfort for a self heal, for great justice for more adrenaline or res sig. Id probs grab FGJ to keep SY up as much as possible.
